Natural Health and Holistic Lifestyle Counselling

Our health is affected by a myriad of factors – some obvious and some less than obvious – including the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and environmental domains. All overlap and interact with one another. A difficulty in any one of these domains is a signal that the body is in a state of imbalance or disharmony.

Managing the symptoms only masks the body’s wise messages. If the cause is not examined, the body sends stronger messages and the underlying condition is aggravated.

The ideal treatment regimen involves listening to the body and caring for the whole person with a combination of physical, psychological, social, environmental and energetic approaches.

A growing body of scientific literature supports the mind-body-spirit connection. Spiritual psychotherapy (also referred to as holistic health or mind/body/spirit medicine) is not so much an alternative as a complementary approach to conventional medicine and is perfectly compatible with standard medical treatment. Spiritual psychotherapy neither challenges nor replaces conventional medicine, but rather can be a powerful means to augment its effects.

The Approach

We begin by seeking counsel from your inner wisdom. We use various tools to tap naturally into this wisdom, including creative imagery, reading body signals, sound therapy, applied kinesiology and connecting with intuitive healing responses.

Once we understand what is needed for rebalancing, we make the appropriate therapeutic recommendations. Just as each individual is unique, so too is the customized treatment plan. There is no single system, formula, or remedy that will be effective for everyone. The customized treatment plan for each individual includes recommendations that may come from any of the following areas of health:

  • Relaxation Therapy
  • Imagery Naturopathy
  • Aromatherapy
  • Holistic Psychotherapy
  • Spiritual Psychotherapy
  • Sound Therapy
  • Chinese Medicine
  • Ayurvedic Medicine
  • Educational Kinesiology

The Goal

The aim is to promote optimal overall health of an individual through the application of recent scientific advances in the fields of holistic psychotherapy, behavioral medicine, naturopathic medicine and complementary medicine.

In addition, this intervention acts as a bridge between the conventional medical model and the holistic health model.

Individual therapy is customized to the needs of the client and works to favor overall health. An improvement in health is sought on the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental levels.

Specialties

Stephane can be of immense help to people who are experiencing a diverse range of health issues affecting their overall physical, emotional and spiritual health. He has in particular dealt with great success with people experiencing the following conditions:

  • Food allergies and sensitivities
  • Sleep disturbances and insomnia
  • Gastro-intestinal disorders
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Cancer
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Chronic pain
  • Gynecological disorders

The Process

Generally, the intervention follows a solutions-oriented approach and is of short-term duration. Since the recommendations may include making lifestyle changes, the success of this type of intervention requires the active participation of the client. The therapist will often give ‘homework assignments’ between sessions to facilitate progress. The therapist acts as a facilitator of change rather than the agent of change.

**Please note that this approach is NOT open to clients seeking psychological services ONLY. This naturopathic approach is only applicable to those seeking natural health/holistic living counseling only. These services are to be considered an adjunct to conventional medicine and are in no way its substitute.
